The Egyptian
Society of Clinical Chemistry (ESCC) was established by Prof. Dr.
Mohamed Abdel Monem Abul Fadl in 1970. He formed a board of directors
consisting of twelve experts in the field of clinical chemistry. The
aims of the society include promotion of research in clinical
chemistry for diagnostic and therapeutic applications, increasing the
interaction between members of the society, and improving skills and
standards of those involved with the field. The society also acts as
a link between the official authorities and the ministries of health
and higher education and the academy of scientific research. This is
in order to facilitate the operation of professional institutions
involved in clinical diagnostics, raise the level of scientific
research, and contribute expert opinions to problems having to do with
the regulatory and legal matter of the field and provision of
clinical diagnostic services. Thereby, it is possible to meet the
increasing needs to master this scientific field, which was lacked in
the
Middle East.
